Apr. 5The first test looks positive to Tony, but Christie isn't convinced.
Apr. 6Same today, so we decide to wait a couple of days before testing again.
Apr. 8Looks like we're gonna have a baby! We can't wait to tell our parents. Tony takes a photo of Christie with the pregnancy test stick and sends it to Grandad and Grandmom Campbell and Grandpa and Nana Mangrum via e-mail. We call each of them to let them know the photo is in their e-mail boxes and wait for them to see it. All the grandparents are very excited. Nana and Christie cry because we all have been praying for this for so long. The prayers from Cross Timbers Church of Christ women's class are deeply appreciated with regard to this request. Tony and Christie proceed to call all of our siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to share our good news. Some of the calls were made on April 9.
Apr. 30Grandpa and Nana Mangrum come up from Texas to see the first ultrasound. More than one happy tear was shed and much thankfulness to God was expressed when saw our little peanut with his or her strong heart beat. We could see the beginnings of legs, arms and the organs. It was truly amazing. Our prayers were being our answered right before our eyes. My biggest problem during the sonogram was keeping from giggling. Every time I giggled, our baby would bounce around. Our baby's heartbeat was 1?? beats per minute. Daddy was very impressed with the technology used for the sonogram. He commented, "I don't know if I'm more excited about having a baby or that monitor's high resolution."

This was also our first official visit with Dr. Piper as an expectant mother. Dr. Piper gave us lots of material to read, including pamphlets about classes Baptist Hospital offer and a book titled, "." I read the majority of the book very quickly. According to the sonogram, our baby is due Dec. 18. Yes, Travis, we remembered December:

That same afternoon, we went to Target and bought some maternity clothes. Things were really begin to feel like Christie was really pregnant. Well, the morning sickness was a pretty good indicator as well.
May 1Christie tells everyone at her office about the baby. They are all very excited.
May ??Amy and Jeremy Valentine, Christie's cousin, sends Tony and Christie the coolest book filled with photos of a baby's development in the womb. Here's a link, We have really enjoyed looking at it and appreciate Amy and Jeremy's thoughtfulness.
May 11Tony and Maggie buy Christie a Mother's Day gift-a Raggedy Ann and Andy quilt from Cracker Barrel with matching square pillow covers. Christie absolutely adores it and plans to use it in the nursery. Here's a photo of it.
May 17Christie takes a trip to Texas for Lori and Tonya's 30th birthday party. While she is there, she and Nana go shopping and Nana buys the cutest Raggedy Ann and Andy baby crib in a bag and mobile. These things are still at Grandpa and Nana's house. We also buy a couple of extra maternity clothes. Aunt Kendra is very generous by giving Christie many of her maternity clothes. Christie was very excited because Kendra has great taste in clothes and has taken good care of them At the airport on the return trip to Nashville, Christie's suitcase was so full that Grampa had to take out her Bible because the suitcase was over the 50 lb limit. Christie was relieved that none of the clothes had to be taken out of the suitcase and sent back to Stephenville!
June 1Granddad Campbell announces at the Madison County Church of Christ that Grandmom Campbell is expecting a grandbaby. All the sweet people at the Madison County congregation are very happy to hear the news.
June 3We have our 12-week sonogram to see our little baby again. He or she is about the most precious thing we have ever seen. It is amazing how much a baby can grow from 7 weeks to 12 weeks. We could see little organs, hands, legs, hand and feet. I remember thoroughly scanning the screen to see every inch of our baby. In fact, our baby seems to be waving to us. We have never felt so much love for someone that we have not met yet.
July 8We visit Dr. Piper's office again. This time we listen to the heartbeat, which was a rate of 150 beats per minute. Dr. Piper says that according to the heartbeat, our was either a boy or a girl. Either a boy or a girl will be great because we know what a blessing this baby is to us. During the doctor visit, we ask many questions and find that we should not travel too far from Nashville after Oct. 15.
July 17Christie can't resist it; she buys the baby an outfit. It is a classic pooh warm sack, including a pooh hat. It gets cold in Tennessee in the winter. We want our baby to be warm.
July 28The Raggedy Ann and Andy lamp, baby bed ruffle, blanket and diaper holder that Christie ordered arrived. It is so cute.

Tony and Christie took an adult CPR course at the Red Cross, so they would be certified and prepared for emergencies. We had a lot of fun, and both of us did very well on our test.
July 29Amanda from TSCPA (Christie's office) give us their baby bed. We really appreciate it and are very excited about setting up a nursery.
July 30The Week 20 ultrasound tells all--it's a Boy! Now, if we can only find a house...
Aug. 30We finally decide on a house we found in Smyrna, Tennessee.
Sep. 1We sign a contract on the house, and start getting ready to move.
Sep. 26We close on the new house! We're so happy and very, very blessed.
Oct. 4-5We move the last of our things into the new house. There's lots to do before Jackson gets here!
Nov. 12Christie's last day at the TSCPA sees lots of tears and well-wishes. She's now officially a stay-at-home mom.
Nov. 19We have our last ultrasound; it estimates Jackson at 7.8 pounds, and we have four weeks to go until the due date! Christie's progressing well.
Dec. 10Last doctor visit before the due date, and Dr. Piper says "You're not going home today!" Christie is wheeled over to Baptist Hospital.
Dec. 11Jackson Samuel Campbell is born at 5:43pm, weighing 8 pounds 4 ounces and measuring 19¾ inches. The celebrations begin.
Dec. 14Tony, Christie and Jackson go home.
